Dark Side of Daley

Some say James “Arfur” Daley is a sad loner and irritating freeloader. But even he wouldn’t stoop to making light of stillborn and sick children. Would he?

Judge for yourselves. The following is from Daley’s Brew Wales blog for 29th September 2009:

“Has anyone else noticed that Gordon Brown's health problems are similar to those caused by congenital syphilis? Delusions, blindness, temper tantrums, death of a still born child, sickness in other children etc. Looks like life in the Manse was a bit more interesting than once thought.”

A few weeks earlier Daley (appropriately on the far right of this photo) gate crashed a CAMRA meeting with Welsh Assembly members Jeff Cuthbert (second left) and Nick Bourne (third left). I wonder if the Labour member for Caerphilly and Conservative member for Mid and West Wales will be so keen for Daley to push his way into their pictures in future?

And for how much longer will Daley’s semi-literate ramblings be acceptable to South Wales Echo Editor Mike Hill?

James Arthur Daley - a Health Warning

By a Brewing Insider
Are brewers losing patience with CAMRA's biggest embarrassment - unemployed freeloader James Arfur Daley?
I spotted his solitary figure haunting the Great British Beer Festival. Bona fide journalists took exception to his use of the press room. Brewers winced as he demanded free "samples."
A brewer from Gwent told me, "Daley is up to his usual tricks - cashing in on his connections with CAMRA and sponging shamelessly off hard-working people too polite to complain.
"One of the few downsides of coming to this excellent event is that we have to do our best to avoid a sad, boring loner with little real knowledge of beer or brewing. He appears to be in a meaningful relationship with his own wrist."

CAMRA dumps Daley?

Is CAMRA the Campaign for Real Ale, finally distancing itself from everyone's "new best friend" James Arfur Daley?
At the Great Welsh Beer Festival in June 2009 Arfur moved among the crowds, back-slapping and generally basking in his association with CAMRA as former regional director for South and Mid Wales.
What many did not realise was that just a few days earlier Arfur had been unceremoniously dumped as official CAMRA spokesman for the Festival. The move is believed to have followed an internal inquiry by CAMRA's disciplinary committee following a series of complaints about postings on Arfur's internet blog.
CAMRA has so far made no public statement but many of the organisation's members are believed to be increasingly uneasy about Arfur's antics.
Organisers of the Cardiff International Food Festival earlier this month looked on in embarrassment as an increasingly flamboyant Arfur spent three days hanging around, sponging off those unfortunate food and drink outlets that took his fancy.
This week Arfur was at an event called "Welsh Bloggers in the Pub." Didn't see him put his hand in his pocket though...
